What is Health Coaching?

Health coaching can be defined as helping/guiding clients gain the knowledge, skills, tools and confidence to become active participants in their care so that they can reach their self-identified health goals.

 

A health coach is therefore partnering with you as you are seeking self-directed, lasting changes, aligned with your values, which promote health and wellness and, thereby, enhance well-being.

 

In the course of our work together I will, as the health coach, display unconditional positive regard for you and a belief in your capacity for change, and honoring that you are an expert on your own life, while ensuring that all interactions are respectful and non-judgmental.

Health coaching focuses not only on the food you eat, but also your lifestyle. I will work with you to help discover your bio-individuality, as everyone is unique and different. There is something that will work for you – together we can find it.

​

It’s also important to know what a health coach is not. A health coach is not a doctor. Health coaches don’t diagnose conditions, prescribe medications or recommend lower or higher doses of your current medications. Moreover, health coaches are not deciding for you which diet you must follow, only you - and your doctor - are making this decision and we are supporting you to succeed in your choice.
